The Ordeal...Thursday Part VII

to start from the beginning...click here for post #1

Today is going home day.  Well, going to the halfway house day.  The Doc comes in early and says "You're outta here, ASAP!" The nurses can't believe he's kicking me out, but I'm ready.  I finally get to shower today.  Got a good look at the incisions (six little slits in my abdomen) and man is clean a great feeling!

You know how there are warning signs all over hospitals saying no cell phones?  Yeah like I'm gunna follow the rules.  Every time my room is empty I'm making calls and checking voice mail etc etc etc so I can get everybody straightened out on the plans.  Everything is crazy if I don't get all people straightened out.

By noon, I've packed my 200 pound bag with all my crap that I drag everywhere.  Thanks for that little piece of genetic information Nana.  They come in with a wheel chair and take me downstairs.

There's a shuttle to take me to the Bishop Foote House (fondly referred to as my halfway house).  The driver doesn't even get out to help me load all my crap and the lady who wheeled me downstairs is kinda a nut job.  Probably on drugs with all her crazy chattering.  I think she almost ran over at least 10 people from my room to the elevator to the front door.  CCCC-RRRAZZZYY!

My room is more like a linen closet and I have to rearrange the furniture to be able to see the TV while in bed.  I have never watched more TV in my life than this week.  What a bunch of garbage and waste of time.  No wonder we don't have TV access in our house.  Worthless!

Mom is going to come pick me up tomorrow morning so today I get to take care of myself and rest.  Hopefully I'll rest better tonight without having all the machines alarming every half an hour.
