What did I do today? Ran 7 freakin' miles

Me and Summer and Megan are running in the Famous Idaho Potato Race next Saturday. I thought I'd better see if I could still run for more than an hour.

Yep! I can.

Here was my route. Left from the house and headed uphill. I climbed 100 feet in altitude by 3/4 of a mile. I went up another 100 feet in altitude by the time I had run .8 miles. I had climbed 300 feet in altitude at the 1.3 mile mark and hit the top of the hill (400 feet) at 1.6 miles.

I ran uphill for 1.6 miles. That hill ALMOST kicked my butt! After that I got to run downhill for a while then back uphill a couple times to get home.

Total mileage...7

I think it took me about 1 1/2 hours but I forgot to look at the clock when we left home. The most impressive part to me is that I pushed myself to keep running to the music even when I was so tired I just wanted to go slow. I had enough gas to kick at the end for probably 200 yards.

I'm pretty danged proud.

I'll lift tomorrow and really hit my abs hard. Sunday is rest. Monday I'll do another hard run, probably not the same run but go for another 90 minutes. Hit my core hard Tuesday with light runs Wed and Thurs. Rest on Friday and hit the 10K in Boise Saturday.

I LOVE IT! My iPod really really really really helped.
