Running on the beat
I'm slightly OCD.
OK, WAY OCD.
I want to run on the beat of whatever tune I'm groovin to on the iPod.
Tonight, just started running because it was time but I wanted to finish the good song. I was NOT running on the beat which was a little nerve racking. But I kept running. NOT on the beat.
I felt I ran faster.
I went the whole 2.5 miles NOT on the beat.
Before I thought I'd run with the beat so I didn't slow to a turtles pace. And it just "felt" better in my little OCD head.
Sprinted in the last 3/10th of the mile. How far is that in human distance? It hurt.
But I think I'm going to buck the tide and run again next time to whatever song I feel like listening to. Not just the ones that have 152 to 169 beats per minute.
Not that I used a metronome and spent hours upon hours counting the beats to songs I liked to make sure I was running fast enough.
NAH I wouldn't do that.
Yep, I did.
