Breakfast IS a MUST!
Our lifestyle and society (at least here in the western US) have flipped our meals so that we've programmed our bodies to store fat and get fatter and feel tired through the day.
Think back to early times. Wake up in the morning and have a huge hearty breakfast because you're going to be working your rear off outside trying to survive. Have a good lunch because you are starving after burning quadzillions of calories. Come home late in the evening for a light dinner and to bed early. You don't see many fat people depicted in the old times. We were not fat people.
Nowadays? Sleep as late as the alarm clock allows. Run out the door grabbing a coffee and doughnut on the way to the office. Feel guilty because you are FAT so you have a tiny salad for lunch. DEAD tired through the day because you didn't properly fuel your body. When you get home all you want is comfort food and we've been programmed to have a big fancy dinner. Go to be with all the food camping out in our body with our metabolism shifted into low gear resting... so when we wake up we're not hungry.
I also was rarely hungry in the morning so usually skipped. Have learned of late that I must get something good in my stomach to get my metabolism revved up for the day. And breakfast is seriously THE most important meal of the day. When skimping on breakfast, and watching calories etc we tend to skimp the rest of the day which I've seen inevitably leads to bingeing in the evening which should be the absolute lightest meal of the day. If we ate less right before retiring, we'd wake up hungry and get our body changing gears so we have energy through the day and we're tired at night.
Let's be flip floppers and change the way we've been programmed to eat. Big healthy breakfast. Good sized lunch to keep us revved up through the day. Won't be needing any more Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Diet Coke, Coffee because our food is fueling us the healthy way. Snack mid afternoon and VERY light dinner. To bed early. Wake up STARVING and do it again.
I'm doing it, and I'm MUCH healthier today. I have extra energy ... until after my vigorous workout which usually sucks ALL the life outta me =D and I'm losing weight.
JUMP ON! CHANGE! Move your own cheese
